Reaching Ortstock peak makes a nice hike for the well conditioned hiker through a beautiful alpine landscape. The peak is 2717 meters in elevation.

Then it's pretty much a straight hike to the peak. About 2/3 of the distance to the peak the trail begins to ascend steeply over scree.
A small "technical" climb up a small ledge assisted by fixed wire ropes should not present the intermediate mountain hiker with any problem.
The hike is however physically demanding and hikers should be in good shape before attempting. Do not attempt in or shortly after it has rained.
