Farragut Naval Base, a large naval training facility on inland Lake Pend Orielle was in operation from 1941 to 1946 during World War II. After the base closed the area became a Faragut State Park. This tower stands in a field near the south edge of the park and can be seen in the distance from the vistor center/museum. I don't think it is still operational.
