Most parts of the Elkhorn Creek are Level I under normal conditions. The Elkhorn Creek is a total of 99 miles long and runs through several counties in Central Kentucky.

There are five levels of trips available. The difficulty of these trips depends a lot on the amount of rainfall the area has gotten. The creek can be very low and flood quickly with heavy rains.
Parking/put-in/launching information:
This put-in/launch point is located at Oser Landing in Georgetown, KY.


Paddling conditions to be expected:
Flatwater.


Difficulty of the trip:
Parts of the trip near this drop-in point are for the Beginner to Intermediate.


Length of trip: Anywhere from 6-19 miles

1 at Jim Beam Distillery Dam


Permits required:
Fishing Permit - $20-$50 Backcountry Camping Permit - $15


Type of trip:
Canoe KY allows you to park at their HQ in Peaks Mill, KY and they shuttle you to your drop-in point. You make your way back to Peaks Mill. The trip is not guided and detailed maps are given to you.


Other information:
This put-in point has a picnic area and is a favorite fishing spot for locals. Watch out for the water snakes.
