A long time ago on this mountain there was the castle, which was destroyed already very early. The castle was inhabited by Maldix vom Litermont and his family. There exists legends saying that he died on a Good Friday. Hunting a deer he fell down a ravine.
The cross is in commemoration of his mother Margarete vom Litermont, which donated a bell to the church of Nalbach.
