Originally built as the World's Fastest Roller Coaster with a top speed of 66 miles per hour, the American Eagle is still great ride even if it has lost it record holder status.

The American Eagle has a double-track layout, meaning it has two tracks in which the trains can "race." Occasionally, one side has the train turned around so riders are facing backwards.

Although the maximum height of the coaster is 127 feet above the ground surface, the first drop is 147 feet, which is accomodated by a 20-foot deep open trench at the base of the drop. That little extra dip adds even more excitement to the ride as you see the ground getting closer and closer.
