The Kit Carson County Fair held the end of July into the beginning of August has extensive 4-H and FFA livestock displays and shows. The fair also includes a rodeo among its events. The fairgrounds are also the permanent home of the Kit Carson County Carousel, a National Historic Landmark, which is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day 1 pm to 8 pm daily.
