Mont Rest was built in 1893 by a wealthy land developer. The round room was used for some very high stakes poker games. Gambling was illegal on land in those days.

Purchased in 1986, it was turned into an Inn. On Christmas Eve in 1996, a fire nearly destroyed Mont Rest. The owner rebuilt it to it's original elegance.
