Christchurch, North Brentor was built 150 years ago this year (2007) it was originally built as a Chapel of Ease for Lamerton Parish as the village of North Brentor was in Lamerton Parish until the boundary changes in the late 1800’s. In 1843 Isabella Holwell made a bequest in her will towards building a new church. It was built from Dartmoor granite by Richard Gosling from Torquay at a cost of £1003. The church was consecrated on 24th September 1857 by Bishop Phillpotts.
