During the winter when river flows are lower the plunge for Elbow Falls increases to 6 metres. During the summer as water levels rise the drop is as little as 3 metres. This increased water depth allows those looking for a very cool mountain stream plunge a chance to jump off one of a few spots into deeper water...I wouldn't.
Also visisble at the fall locations are the eroded out caves from previous fall locations in the rocks to the southwest of the current falls.
