Fava's has been a downtown Georgetown dining institution since 1910. The old soda fountain was taken out just a few years ago. You still sit in old booths and fifties style tables and chairs with 50's murals of the diner on the walls.

Fava's was sold a few years ago to Mrs. Gruchow from Louisiana and she brought some of her flavor to our area. My favorite meal is the Catfish sandwhich. You just can't pass it up. You can't miss the striped awning that welcomes you and maybe you can catch up on all the town gossip when the who's who of town drops in for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Louis "Louie" and Asunta "Susie" Bertolini Fava, were the first owners of Fava's. Fava's started as a confectionery. Louie created some of the most mouth watering ice creams which included fresh peaches and strawberries, chocolate and vanilla. Susie made sure that the homemade chocolate candies were available for the children. Other favorites were bins willed with fresh fruits that customers picked themselves.
As years have gone by several different families have operated Fava's with the same tradition of good food and fellowship as we know it today. Presently Jeni and Howard Gruchow own Fava's and bring new ideas that make this truly a family style business. Please accept our appreciation and sincere thanks for letting us serve you.
