Fossil Lake is accessible via 16 mile one-way hike up the East Rosebud Trail. The East Rosebud Creek decends through the East Rosebud Drainage located in the Abaroska-Beartooth Wilderness. The watercoure follows the drainage through several lakes and forms several waterfalls.
