Fort Hays is a completely touristy thing, but was a fun stop. At the Fort you can tour some of the buildings and participate (for a fee) in activities like rope making, brick making, creating your own tin plate, and much more. You can also tour some of the set buildings from the movie "Dances with Wolves", which look just as they did in the movie. There is no charge to wander the fort, but if you're interested, you can partake of the chuckwagon supper and listen to the supper show, which was cheesy, but fun.

The fort also offers an all you can eat pancake feed for 99 cents a person each morning. Of course any extras, bacon, coffee, fruit etcetera, is extra.

We enjoyed wandering the fort and talking with the people working the displays. They knew a lot of the history of ranching and rodeo in the area.

Prices for the show and supper are:
Adults: $18.00
Children 5-12: $9.00
4 & under: $4.00
Group Pricing: groups of 25 or more $16.00

Admission to the Fort is free
