This KOA was actually very pleasant, with gorgeous views of Devils Tower, lots of shade, a pool, and free wifi in the cafe/gift shop building.

We don't typically stay at KOAs but the campground within the National Monument didn't take reservations. Fortunately we were happily surprised. The views were extraordinary and our campsite was right next to the Belle Fourche River, with a view of the tower.

The cafe/gift shop that is located right next to the entrance to the National Monument has free wifi. The connection was good and it was nice and quiet.

Each night the campground gives an outdoor viewing of Close Encounters of the Third Kind in the shadow of Devils Tower so I caught up on emails in the cafe while the rest of team Hikenutty watched the movies. The people are very friendly and you don't have to buy food to sit in the cafe area and use the internet. I just bought a bottle of water and an apple and they didn't say anything.

The cafe and gift shop is open to anyone, not just campers.
