The Korean War Veterans Memorial was dedicated on July 27, 1995, the 42nd anniversary of the armistice that ended the war. The focal point of the memorial is the triangle field containing 19 statues representing a unit of patrol. The remainder of the memorial consists of a black granite wall containing images of the war and a granite relecting pool.
The memorial is under the control of the National Parks Service asnd was listed on the National Historic Resgister when it was dedicated.
