President Paul Kruger proclaimed this piece of land a Game Sanctuary in 1895, making it the first Game Reserve on the African Continent and the Second in the World.

Trails range in difficulty from flat and easy jeep track to some hair raising single track up and down the Groenkloof valley. We recommend that you take the trails easy and enjoy the peacefulness of the Reserve, there are many animals and beautiful views that should not be missed.

Bikes can be rented from the entrance of the Reserve and there are overnight facilities available. Click here for more information about Groenkloof.
