The Ben Holladay Overland Stagecoach Station at Point of Rocks was originally built in 1861 and was used as such until 1877 when the stage line was abandoned. After it was abandoned, the small community took over use of the building and turned into into a school and residence for the teacher.
The buildings (a barn and the station) have been restored and you can now visit them and read the interpretive signs explaining the history of the building. Next to the building you can still see the wagon wheel ruts of the Overland/Cherokee Trail and above the building on the hill is a small cemetery.
The town is now little more than a rest stop off of I-80 with a population of less than 10 people.
