The Phillip Fire Station was extended in 1989, and is one of nine stations in the ACT.
As a heavy rescue station Phillip responds to all road accident rescues south of Lake Burley Griffin and will respond to calls north of the lake if required. Because of the heavy rescue capabilities it is a requirement that the Station Officer and two Firefighters have Stage III Road Rescue Training.
