Houston’s City Auditorium was demolished to make room for Jones Hall. The teak-lined hall is equipped with 800 movable hexagons. The hexagons can be manipulated to change the seating capacity and acoustics of the hall by changing the hall’s size and volume. The hall can seat from 2300 to 2911 people.

The Houston Symphony was founded in 1913. Each year it presents up to five different series, including a Pops Series and a Classical Series, between September and May before moving to its summer home at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands.
