St. Patrick’s Parish, the first Roman Catholic church in Corpus Christi, was established in 1853. By 1912, Corpus Christi had its own diocese and St. Patrick’s had become a cathedral. The old St. Patrick’s Church was replaced by this cathedral built in 1940.
