Little River Kung Fu School derives its name from three main sources:

1. We used to train next to a creek in Bangor, PA. in the early 80s.

2. Kung Fu training is one of the many tributaries or pathways that flow towards the ocean of cosmic bliss, universal oneness or enlightenment.

3. Little River evokes the image of water, so often found in the Tao, ceaselessly flowing, resting humbly in lowly places and flowing over obstacles.

The school began in 1980 in New York, as the New York Kung Fu Loft, residing in Soho, Brooklyn and Chinatown. High rents caused its migration westward to New Jersey and finally to northeastern Pennsylvania.

Little River has flowed into the "School for Visual and Performing Arts" (554 Main Street, second floor) in Stroudsburg, PA., a small town that is the gateway to the Pocono mountains. Classes are held in a spacious, sky-lit studio 6 times a week.
