Inspired by the local aerospace industry, including the Bell (maker of the X-1 supersonic aircraft, the Lunar Module ascent engine and the LLRV and LLTV), Consolidated and Curtis companies, this museum showcases manned spaceflight artifacts such as an Apollo Lunar Module ascent engine, an Agena primary propulsion system, and the actual headset used by EECOM Sy Liebergott during Apollo 13. Its displays also include the Bell jet backpack and Mercury propuslion system components, as well as two floors of historic aviation artifacts.
Hours: Fall/winter/spring: Tue.-Sat., 10 am-4 pm.
Summer: call for hours.
