The Indian Creek Covered Bridge is one of the most photographed bridges in West Virginia. It is owned by the Monroe County Historical Society and open to pedestrians only. It is a long truss bridge that was built in 1903 as part of the White and Salt Sulphur Springs Turnpike. The Bridge was built by Ray and Oscar Weikel who were ages 16 and 18 at the time and by E. P. and A. P. Smith. It is 11 and a half feet wide and 49 feet long and cost $400 dollars to construct in 1903 and was in constant use for about 30-years.
In spring of 2000, Hoke Brothers Construction, Inc. of Union, WV rehabilitated the bridge in 2002 at a cost of $334,446. Renovations included timber roof trusses, a new glue-laminated timber deck, new wooden exterior siding and a new roof of split shakes.
