The plaque reads: "Homage to the Brazilian Navy from the association of former fighters of Brazil, Sao Paulo section." Propeler of the Mariz de Barros 1940-1972. Vessel constructed by the Navy of Rio de Janeiro and launched at sea in 1940. Participated in numerous operations during WW2, including accompanying the transport ship which took our troops to Europe."
