The house upon which this weathervane sits was built by Harry Bartlett Stewart. The original house was a small 24'x24' structure built in 1842. The house was added to over the years and is actually three seperate structures tied together.

In May 1975 the Stewart family sold the 720 acre farm to the State of Ohio which eventually turned the land into Quail Hollow State Park.
