Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre was officially opened by the Prime Minister on 23 November, 1988 to celebrate Australia's Bicentenary. Questacon was jointly funded by Australia and Japan.
To achieve its aim of promoting greater understanding and awareness of science and technology within the community, Questacon is committed to making an experience with science and technology fun, educational and interactive. Questacon has over 200 exhibits and approximately 300 000 people visit the Centre in Canberra each year.
Questacon shows how science and technology are relevant and important to our everyday lives. Whether you're making a telephone call, cooking a meal or throwing a ball, with the use of everyday examples science becomes easier to understand.
