ADFA is unusual amongst western military officer training institutions in that it provides military and academic programs simultaneously to the young officers of all three armed Services.
A program of common and single Service military studies is provided to all cadets. This is carried out in association with the Royal Australian Navy College at HMAS Creswell, the Royal Military College at Duntroon and the Royal Australian Air Force College at Point Cook.
An undergraduate academic studies program is provided through arrangements with the University of New South Wales (sciences, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences).
ADFA also provides a range of postgraduate programs that are open to members of the Australian Defence Organisation (both military and civilian personnel), members of the general community and international students.
Era: Post WW II
General Comments: There is a field behind the Academy that has walking paths and horse bridal trails on it. We saw about 25 kangaroos on the fields!
