This cross is believed to be a 6th century Christian memorial stone that has been turned into a wayside cross. The cross measurers 7 feet tall and 1 foot 8 inches across the arms.
A hard to read incription on the cross reads:
PRINCIPI
IURIVOCI
AUDETI
The cross has also been a waymarker, on each of its 4 sides it has a letter incised T (Tavistock) H (Hatherleigh), O (Okehampton), and L (Launceston)
Ordnance Survey map reference (10 figure) if within DNP – If outside the Park, add N/A: Not listed
