Cultivation of pineapples on Okinawa as an agricultural product has been done for around a century. Yet, due to lower priced, imported pineapples, the industry has suffered in recent decades. Here the fruit has been promoted as a tourist attraction. The Nago Pineapple Park is a small, enjoyable theme park about pineapples.
The admission gives you some detailed information on pineapple fields and their processing. A look at a nice tropical garden, and all-you-can-sample pineapple products in the adjacent souvenir shop.
Some of those products include pineapple wines, juices, cakes, chocolates, as well as dried and fresh pineapple. You can also observe how pineapples are pealed, cut and canned. But of course, also enjoy sampling some fresh pineapple too!
