The building’s design is the work of architect Salvador Choussy, and was conceived to integrate the museum to the Monument to the Revolution, so that they would form a whole. The museum has at its disposal all the facilities of a specialized fine arts institution; three exhibit halls dedicated to temporal national and international exhibitions, and the Great Hall dedicated to Salvadorian painting.
