From this point downstream to the Atlantic Ocean, the Savannah river (and the many lakes on it) is the boundary between the states of Georgia and South Carolina.

Dawg and her humans went on a bikeride that started in Hartwell, GA. From there the bike route went east across the dam that holds back the waters of Hartwell Lake, into the rolling hills of South Carolina, then turned and went west again to cross the Savannah River. It was after crossing the river to the Georgia side where this picture of the boundary sign was taken.
