The British Museum may be most famous for a piece of granite all the way from Egypt: the Rosetta Stone, but Dartmoor granite, along with Portland limestone built the actual fabric of the museum.

Wikipedia Tells us that "The Museum is faced with Portland stone, but the perimeter walls and other parts of the building were built using Haytor granite from Dartmoor in South Devon, transported via the unique Haytor Granite Tramway"
