Known as the "New" Courthouse, this 1909 structure replaced a nearby 1887 building, designed by Morrill Joseph Curtis, which is still used as a courthouse annex. The copper domed and copper doored building, designed by George T. Beardslee, was constructed by Dodson and Weller, at a cost of $80,000. Fifty thousand loads of dirt were brought in to create the knoll on which the building stands and to landscape the attractive park around it.
Courtrooms are on the upper floor and county offices occupy the first floor.
