In 1950, the United States Department of the Treasury commissioned 55 full-sized replicas of the Liberty Bell. These were cast in France and given to states and territories of the United States and the District of Columbia to be displayed and rung on patriotic occasions. The replicas do not have the famous crack in the bell.
Nebraska's bell was first displayed in the state capitol building. Then it was kept in storage and shown at the state fair each year.In 2005 the bell was moved to a new pavilion constructed for it in Antelope park . The new setting was dedicated on Veterans Day, 2005.
