The Alder Dam is located on the NIsqually river and the power it creates is transmitted through 25 miles of lines to the city of Tacoma, Washington.

The dam was built in 1945. If you stand at its base it towers 285 feet above you and 45 feet below the ground. The dam is 15 feet thick at the top and 120 feet thick at its base.
