Steam locomotive was built for Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad in July 1937 at their locomotive plant in Burlington, Iowa. The locomotive weighs 288 tons and was used in both freight and passenger service. The locomotive was retired from active service in September 1957 and donated to the City of St. Joseph in 1962.
