The Crooked River Lighthouse was built in 1895 to replace the Dog Island Light destroyed by a hurricane in 1873. The original lens, a fourth-order open bivalve revolving lens was manufactured by Henri LePaute in 1894. It is currently on display at the U.S. Coast Guard District 8 headquarters in New Orleans. The Carrabelle Lighthouse Association has been managing the lighthouse since 2002. To become a member of the CLA, contact
