Frank Gehry, a California architect known for his futuristic designs, designed this deconstrutivist style building.
Completed in 1992, this $25 million building is clad in matte-finished stainless steel. A second building attached to the core building is built of limestone from Anamosa, 35 miles north. A third attached building is copper-clad.
The building also houses the Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research, Laboratories for the Center for Computer-Aided Design, and laser scientists from physics, chemistry, and engineering fields.
