The historic Canadian Pacific Railway (C.P.R.) buildings were slated for demolition. Protestors failed in their bid to obtain an injunction to prevent the demolition of buildings at the Drake Street Roundhouse. In the end only the semi-circular building that contained the old steam engine stalls was saved and all the other buildings in the complex were demolished.
