The artist, Elwood Martin Reynolds, is of Cheyenne/Apache descent.
His art, in both traditional and contemporary Native American styles, synthesizes strength and simplicity.

This sculpture is a gift to De Anza College from Dr. and Mrs. Alvin B. Rutner.
