One source calls her the "Lady in Grey" and gives her name as Rue. Some believe she resides in the innkeepers house and other think she now haunts the light itself. The Heceta Head lighthouse keepers wife is reported to turn off an on lights and unlatch windows.

The house where the ghost is said to reside is now a bed & breakfast inn that is overseen by the State of Oregon. This bed & breakfast features an interpretive center and a gift shop in the old Queen Ann style keeper's quarters. Nearby you can enjoy a tour of the HECETA HEAD LIGHTHOUSE.

There are many references to the ghost including an eye witness report toward the end of an online article found at the Oregon Beach Connection website.
