The Motel DeSoto opened in the late 1930's and is still doing business in the same location. The owner of the restaurant owns the car dealership right next door and at the time the restaurant was built, he was selling Desotos, so the name made good sense. The owner of both business' is still alive and comes to the dealership everyday, same as he has for 70 years. He has relinquished management of the restaurant to his children, so it is still in the family. The neon on the sign is still quite bright, however, some portions either don't light or flicker on and off occasionally. I took three night pics and this was the least fuzzy of the set.
