In July 2015 the Old Virginia Brick Company was sold and this memorial was donated to the City of Salem. The Memorial was removed from it's original site and moved to the Salem Fire Department in Downtown Salem, Virginia. On September 11, 2015, the memorial was dedicated at it's new site.

The 9-11-2001 Memorial was originally erected and dedicated by the owners, directors and employees of the Old Virginia Brick Company. The memorial feature two steel beams taken from the 33rd and 36th floors of the World Trade Centers North Tower. The beams stand on a concrete and brick foundation constructed by employees of Old Virginia Brick. An American Flag waves proudly from the top of the beams. The memorial stands at the center of a small memorial plaza on the grounds of the Old Virginia Brick Company in Salem, Virginia.
The is no charge for visiting the memorial and there is limited parking located at the site.

Text on the memorial: Old Virginia Brick Company’s employees, officers, and directors dedicate this memorial to all the innocent people killed by the terrorists on September 11, 2011. These two beams are from the 33rd – 36th floors of the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. The following is the total number of innocent people that perished in each tragedy on 9/11:

Three men on United Flight 93 led the other passengers heroically in an unarmed attack against the terrorists and forced the flight to crash in a field in Pennsylvania, giving their lives while saving thousands in Washington, DC.
There were many heroic acts that fateful day. The New York City Firefighters, Emergency Medical Service Personnel and Police Officers Displayed extraordinary valor and the following gave their lives trying to save others:
