The 'Kaapse Bossen' are part of the national park 'Utrechtse Heuvelrug'. This part is maintainted by 'Natuurmomumenten'.
The new lookout tower was officialy opend at july 16th 2006 and replaced the old tower at this spot. The new tower is 25 meters high and stands on one of the highest points in the middle of the Netherlands: the utrechtse heuvelrug, a prehistoric glacier 'stuwwal'.
