The boundary stone showing WD19, refers to the war department and is one of 46 similar stones used to mark out the Willsworthy firing range. They date from when the army purchased its first tract of land, virtually following the line of the old Willsworthy Manor in about 1900.
This stones stands on the brow of the hill between Hare Tor and Sharp Tor within a few paces of a burial cairn.
This marker is within the Willsworthy live firing range so you will need to check Army firing notices before visiting.
