Santa Apolónia is without any doubt the most important trainstation in Lisbon conecting Lisbon to Oporto.

Santa Apolónia is the oldest trainstation in Lisbon.
From here you can take the train to Oporto, Coimbra or other cities north of Lisbon (Alfa Pendular or Intercidades) or even international trains like the Sud-Express to Paris or the Lusitânia to Madrid.
The station was build where once there was the Santa Apolónia convent and was inaugurated on the 1st may 1865 with one floor. The other floors were added in 1908.
it was suposed to be conected to the Cascais train line but that never happened.
