The country's only drive-in theatre is found at the cross roads of Highway 1A and Highway 4B, along the south coast of this island nation just a few miles off the coast of Venezuela.

I came to Aruba with my GPS but not with any intention of capturing waymarkers.
Then I came across this drive-in theater and I couldn't resist.
My family and I were heading to the southern most point of the island called Baby Beach along the major south-coastal highway, 1A, and there it was at the intersection with 4B. Honestly, I was a bit distracted by the huge Balashi plant on the right. It was about 100 degrees and though we were driving down the road in an open Jeep Wrangler, I was still very hot. A nice cold mug of Aruba's only local beer would have felt real nice about then. However, my daughter ripped my attention away from the idea of a beer and we went waymarker hunting.
It wasn't hard to find the drive-in because it was visible from the major intersection. We drove down the entrance road and found that having a 4WD Jeep was handy because the road was in horrible condition. However, once we got to the facility it was in pretty good shape and obviously actively being used. The "Now Showing" sign was nothing more than a poster on a billboard. The facility was enclosed in a blue sheet metal wall with barbed wire along the top. The tops of the buildings had broken glass embedded in the roof. The offices and concession stand were in good shape. The screen was well maintained with both the structure and the viewing surface in a state of good repair. I found a hole in the wall and was able to grab a shot of the interior which was cute; all the speaker posts were painted different colors.
This post allows me to leave Aruba with a special little momento. :-)
