On the main entrance to Stadtkirche church in Michelstadt you will find this beautiful door handle.
The church was completed in 1490 and is still in function.
The door handle is depicting a kind of animal. Probably a lion and is made of brass. the lower part of the handle is made up of the animal's tail. It ia about 20 wide and shiny. The animal (lion?) has bared teeth
The door itself is also very nicely decorated with squares and a guardian angel on top.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to find further information about the door or the handle.
