In the information panel near to there we can read "Soon after the start of the Spanish Civil War, the town of Cambedo welcomed hundreds of refugees and, later, anti-Franco guerrillas for 10 years. Decisive for this was the existence of family ties and friendships that continued over time and were based on a Sanfelt culture that had been consolidated over centuries, not least because Cambedo was a mixed village, crossed by the border until 1864, The solidarity of the neighbors with those fleeing violence and persecution has already been acknowledged by the Galician government, in successive tributes, in the inscription in the toponymy of Ourense, and the placement of a plaque to the south of the chapel. Cambedo serves as an example of the solidarity and generosity that the village's neighbors showed during the difficult times of dictatorships in Spain and Portugal."
In this part of the church the stone plaqu eputs:
"En lembranza do voso sufrimento
1946-1996"
