In fact this memorial to the Battle of Geok Tep (1879) was originally in the center of Ashgabat but was moved here when the Complex was created in 2014. It's about the famous battle which took place during the Russian invasion of the lands which are now Turkmenistan.

It's a symbolical monument which was enriched by an impressive collection of bas-relief sculptures depicting scenes of the battle.
