I've been meaning to mark this one for a while, since I pass it twice daily on my commute to/from work. The land owned by the quarry extends almost the entire length of S. Section Line Rd. from US 36 to US 42, and west to Klondike Rd. They've recently begun to excavate toward the north, so the images shown in Google Maps only shows a smaller portion of the working pit.
National Lime & Stone Co. is the 14th-largest producer of crushed stone in the nation and is one of the largest suppliers of construction aggregates in Ohio. They are headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, and this pit outside of Delaware is actually listed on their website as being their Columbus operation, but it does list a local Delaware phone number. This company has been in business since 1903. I've tried to find information as to when this specific quarry opened, but I was unable to come up with anything.
